Ditch Witch Hawkeye and Low Profile adapters
The Hawkeye LP / Hex adapter is the Ditch Witch parallel to the QuickFire tailpiece. A hex or LP-style locking interface lets the crew change bits and downhole tooling without breaking a threaded connection. The result is the same: faster bit swaps, less thread wear, and fewer cross-thread mistakes when a new helper is on the brake.
Drillworx stocks Hawkeye adapters across the current JT-series rod-connection family, with a matched catalog of crossover subs for shops running mixed Vermeer and Ditch Witch tooling. If your fleet runs both makes, the crossover inventory is worth more than a few extra bit bins — it lets one pull of tooling service either rig.
Every Hawkeye adapter ships with the correct wear parts and lock pins. Plan on replacing those parts on a scheduled interval based on your changeout frequency rather than waiting for a failure; wear-part cost is a fraction of an in-hole incident.
Field guidance
Standardize every rig on a Hawkeye adapter so bits and tooling walk between machines without a thread-compatibility check.
Hawkeye-to-Vermeer crossovers let a Ditch Witch rig run Vermeer-pattern bits, and vice versa. Useful for shops that buy bits off the shelf rather than by rig.
When a crew swaps transmitter range mid-bore, the Hawkeye interface changes the housing in under a minute without opening a rod thread.
Rebuilt bits reinstall on the same Hawkeye lock surface every time, preserving geometry repeatability that threaded adapters do not guarantee.

FAQ
LP (low-profile) keeps the adapter stack short and is preferred for tight-radius utility work. Hex has more torsional capacity and is the right choice for larger bits and heavier tooling. Most mid-size fleets carry LP as the default and Hex for the rock-and-reamer side of the inventory.
Not directly — QuickFire is a Vermeer-side interface. Use a Hawkeye-to-Vermeer crossover sub if you need to mix. Drillworx keeps common crossovers in stock; call with your specific combination.
Lock pins are consumables. Plan on 50-100 changeouts as the inspection interval and replace at the first sign of ovalizing. Spares are cheap; a dropped bit is not.
